    just out of curious and being too lazy to google it, or search the immunology book – why can’t you donate your marrow when you’re healthy and keep it until you’ll get sick? Does the activity goes to 0 while frozen, or something? Those are the proteins, right? so wy they’re not fine in -70? (I mean other reasons than money)

  2. You could donate and store autologous bone marrow. But the costs would be quite high. Just collection of bone marrow from just 1 000 000 of people would cost…. 16 000 000 000 PLN. For that money you could analyze over 60 000 000 potential bone marrow donors. That is over 3 times more than there are potential donors registered worldwide (the number now is over 21 000 000). With 60 000 000 you will most probably cover most of the genotypes in the world.
