The subject is very close to me. I did underwent severe burnout in 2007-2008. Due to many very happy coincidences and personal work I was able to overcome this in following years. Now looking around I see many people that are not aware that they undergo the burnout. There is one very bright side once you realize that you suffer from this – and once the internal balance is restored the work is something it has never been before.
“So if physicians really want to address what is making them burned out and dissatisfied, they will have to regain control of their own societies, organizations, and academic institutions and ensure that these organizations put core values, not revenue generation and providing cushy compensation to their executives, first.”
This in my opinion is also valid on the very personal intent of actions.
